Question by Nicole is a thinker.: Why are a lot of Baptist churches labeled as First Baptist Church?
Why are they mostly the “First” Baptist Church? This doesn’t make sense to me.
I’ve seen multiple “First” Baptist churches in a town.
This has nothing to do with Catholic Churches.
This question does not make me an asshole.

Because they were the first congregation founded in that town. That’s why you’ll also see things like Second Baptist Church, etc. Usually, by Third, they come up with another name, like Main Street Baptist Church.
