Question by : When someone leaves a church, do they get denounced by the people at their old church?
Does the preacher mention the name of the apostate with scorn dripping from his words in a sermon? Do they make an effigy of the apostate and symbolically burn it? The motive for this kind of behavior would be to prevent other people still in the church from following the person who left. Some religions take this to extremes, like Muslims for example, who take everything to extremes. They cut the heads off apostates! I don’t think Christians are this crazy, although they were during the Middle Ages, but do they just settle for a thorough denouncing of apostates?

Of course not!! Are you so afraid to step foot into a church that you allow ignorance to fuel your opinions?

  2. Aggy Says:

It depends – christains are essentially selfish being concerned only with their own salvation and spreading their version of the worldview to people who do not want to hear it. A recent post on these pages detailed 17 charities of which 9 were purely dedicated to promoting their own church.
So anyone with this narrow view of the world will very likely denounce anyone who has the temerity to see through the garbage and leave the church.

    Yes.

Most people who leave a church are simply moving away and going to a different church.

Really. We get it. You hate us. Please realize your posts dripping with hated really make you seem like you belong with the Westboro Baptists.

@Max Marie, SFO I agree with you
