No, I don’t think it has anything to do with Vatican II. I saw a television program about this priest in Louisville, KY and he said he belong to the Old Catholic Church which is outside the Pope’s authority.

a spring cleaning of outdated doctrines such as purgatory, and indulgences…and a new embracing of modernity and science… took place in the 1960s (i think)

thats the only old/new catholic church i’m aware of
