Was St Paul Excommunicated at the Church of Jerusalem?

Question by urigeller_02: Was St Paul Excommunicated at the Church of Jerusalem?
Some one told me that there is a part of the Dead Sea Scrolls which records that St Paul was thrown out of the church of Jerusalem under the authority of St James ?
is there any credence to this claim ?

  1. As far as I know, there’s nothing that clearly says that. There is a recent attempt to interpret some of the documents as talking about James the Just and St Paul, for example, as part of a theory that the Dead Sea Scrolls were held by a very early Christian community, but that doesn’t seem to be widely endorsed.

But remember, whenever someone makes a claim that something is found in a large collection of documents, or is taught by some group, or happened historically, and you want to know if it is true, ask them to be specific, to prove it. If they can point you to a particular document which you can check, then you can see if it is there and read it for yourself. If they can’t, the burden isn’t on you to search the entire literature to exhaustively prove it isn’t there! If they can’t support their claim, move on unless you wanted to learn about it anyway.
