Would Republicans feel better about taxes if we gave them a gathering place to give and people will see them?

Question by Growth vs Oil: Would Republicans feel better about taxes if we gave them a gathering place to give and people will see them?
One thing I have noticed is that most conservatives do not like to give unless they are receiving acknowledgment that you gave. Jesus fish in a company ad, flare up at the gas station with your name on it, your Church name on your car etc. They don`t even know they are doing it for self. Why do conservatives give more then Liberals, there is a paper trail when conservatives give.

Is this the way you justify the fact that conservatives give more than liberals in charity? You are nothing but a spin-monster and a fvcking apologist, and you can’t even see your own words proving that. I’m done for today; I do consider you guys friends, but you’re pissing me off right now.

Liberals can’t figure out that the poor end spends the rich end’s money all day, through the use of taxes and through the use of charity, and that liberals are the ones giving just so they can get the damn tax write-offs. Conservatives are the ones giving of their TIME, which cannot be taxed. God, you people and your justifications for why the right could ever possibly be on the upper end of something make me sick sometimes.

I’m a tourist. How long realistically would it take to see these sites? Can i see them all in a few hours?

Question by Aza Eggar: I’m a tourist. How long realistically would it take to see these sites? Can i see them all in a few hours?
I’m looking to swing by and take pics next to these historical sites. The only site i may want to go inside is the Independence Hall, but i read that the tour is super short.

So how many hours realistically would it take to see all these sites:

Independence Hall
Liberty Bell
Rocky Steps and Rocky Statue
Ben Franklins Grave (Christs Church)

Best answer:

Answer by Josh Callison
The Independence Hall tour is only half an hour long. In fact, you might be waiting to get in for longer than you’ll actually be there. Two thirds of the building are actually closed to the public, and the rest is just a waiting room with a painting and a recreated court room, nothing spectacular.
Even if you’re dead set on seeing that, you won’t have to hurry to the next thing, because the historic district of Philadelphia is pretty clumped together.

Independence Hall is only five minutes from the Rocky Steps and Statue, the Liberty Bell is only two minutes away from Independence Hall, and Christ’s Church is only three minutes from the Liberty Bell.

If church pews have material on them, do they have to match the color of the carpet?

Question by SandyLou: If church pews have material on them, do they have to match the color of the carpet?
My mom has been a member of a small Baptist Church forever…and with remodeling done lately there has been discussion as to whether or not the cushion on the church pews need to match the carpet! Some say it has to match, some say they don’t think so. Is there a right or wrong answer?

Best answer:

Answer by Lynne W
There’s probably no right or wrong here; it’s taste, and since it’s for a church it should be conservative.

The carpet is probably a tight weave, industrial-type, maybe with flecks of different colors mixed in a base color. If you could find an upholstery fabric that coordinates well with the carpet selection, and hides the wear well, you should be okay. Maybe a small scale print, or just some synthetic with flecks similar to the carpet.

I’d also stand on the pulpit, and look down at the pews, and think about how the selections would look from up there, but that would be after you have a couple of swatches…and they should be good sized swatches.

How do I invite men to church without making them think I wanna date them?

Question by plzlvamsg: How do I invite men to church without making them think I wanna date them?
I am a Christian. I like to invite people to my church. Most of the time when I invite a man to church he thinks I am picking up on him. Should I take another approach or just stop inviting men to church altogether?
