Yes they are all christian churches just different denominations.

Over the centuries, Christianity has divided into numerous denominations. Each denomination has its own distinctive beliefs or practices, but they are commonly considered branches of the same religion because they agree on such fundamentals as the Bible, the Trinity, and the teachings of the Nicene Creed.

Yes we use the same bible as the RC. The High church people do all of the things that an RC does. The low church are more like the Methodist. In some parishes both type live in harmony. I am High church and I will say ‘we pray to the Saints’ and someone else in my parish will say ‘no we don’t’. It is a matter of personal practice. Also the Anglican church has monks and nuns, just like the RC does, but not as many.

The Anglican church broke away from the Roman church under Henry the Eighth. For a time the church was very anti-Catholic, but then there was a movement called the Oxford movement that brought back many of the practices of the Roman Church, but not necessarily all of the theology. Today we are not officially in communion with Roman, but there have been ongoing talks for many years.

To Be or Not to Be a Church Member, That Is the Question!

To Be or Not to Be a Church Member, That Is the Question!

Should you commit yourself to membership in a local church? Isn’t just being a Christian enough? Dr. Wayne Mack brings his years experience as a Bible teacher, pastor, and counselor to this very controversial topic.  His answers are straightforward and clear. YES! You must become a church member if you’re to be obedient to Our Lord Jesus Christ and the clear teaching of the New Testament.  NO!  Being a “lone wolf” Christian is not enough; you must join with a local body of believers in a church that teaches sound doctrine.

What is the Episcopal Church’s “official” position on the question of whether or not to bless same sex unions?

Question by WOODSEY NILES: What is the Episcopal Church’s “official” position on the question of whether or not to bless same sex unions?
I know that there are a great many people within the Episcopal Church who support the blessing of same sex marriage as well as full inclusion of gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, and transgendered persons. And I also know there are a large number of people who hold the opposite view.

But what is the Church’s official position on these matters?

It depends on the Country. You will get some Anglican/Episcopalian churches in countries like Uganda who are dead against it and threaten to severe from the Anglican communion should the rest of the Communion vote in favour. Places like America are more open to the idea. The Church of England, being the mother church is in an awkward position. They risk opposition from the liberals and opposition from the Conservatives. The general view is that it is not “ideal” but it is fine if you are in a commited relationship. You will find that they aren’t as strict as catholics.

question concerning history of the Church of Christ?

Question by Jacki G: question concerning history of the Church of Christ?
I’ve heard that the modern day denomination, The Church of Christ, is a split-off from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Supposedly, in the early history of the LDS, which would put it in the 1840’s, 50’s ? I have heard so many good things about the LDS Church but know virtually nothing of the Church of Christ. Just curious.

Not exactly. There is a branch of LDS called The Church of Christ, but the ones in my neck of the woods (Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas) are spun off from Congregationalists. They just share the same name.
