Pipe Organ Music in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Key West

Video taken (08/21/2009) while touring Key West on a Carnival Cruise. The organist at St. Paul’s plays music for ~1 hour on Mondays through Fridays. Today’s selection was music from the 1800s. The organist is Mr. Joseph Lowe. PS: Pardon the banging noises. Workers were inside the church building doing prep work for the upcoming diocesan gathering.

I’m not generally a big fan of most HDR photography. Most of it is like this photo, kind of oversaturated and garish. However, I kind of like the result in this application because it makes the photo look like an old picture postcard, and the subject is exactly the kind of thing you would expect to see on one.

This is St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in downtown Columbus, Mississippi. Construction on this church began in 1854, and was completed in 1860 and was consecrated by the Rt. Rev. William Mercer Green, the first Episcopal Bishop of Mississippi.

This photo was made by merging two hand-held stepped exposures in Photomatix Basic, and then some additional post-processing in Photoshop.
