there is a new church..why is that? is the ELCA a liberal church along the episcopal?

is it? thats a good thing. maybe we can have some internal struggles soon so they leave regular people alone.

you really dont see many church vs church battles anymore

Ordination To The Christian Ministry

ABUNDANT JOY MINISTRIES, INC. of Montgomery County, MD announces a worship service for the Ordination to the Christian Ministry of Deborah Elaine Bell-Shepard. This service will be held on Sunday, October 10, 2004, 5pm, at Berwyn Presbyterian Church, 6301 Greenbelt Road, College Park, MD 20740.

Ms. Bell-Shepard earned the Master of Divinity degree from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology, Virginia Union University, Richmond, in 2003. Her concentation was Christian Education, where she drew upon her experiences as Sunday School Superintendent and Vacation Bible School teacher, to assist her in excelling in this area of study.

Ms. Bell-Shepard will be examined by an Ordination Council composed of ministers from various Christian congregations, including Pentecostal, Baptist, African Methodist Episcopal, United Church of Christ, and nondenominational.

The Revs. Drs. Ella P. Mitchell and Henry H. Mitchell, formerly of Virginia Union University, Interdenominational Theological Center, and United Theological Seminary, will serve as Ordination Moderator and Theologian, respectively.

Other Ordination Council Members will include: Rev. Clarence L. James, Sr., Philadelphia; Evangelist Marva Feurtado, Atlanta; Rev. Gladys B. Dates, Largo, MD; Deacon Rosa B. Porter and Rev. Johnny N. Golden, Sr., of Baltimore; Rev. Rosita Mathews, Gambrills, MD,; Rev. Lawrence Anderson and Rev. Vernor E. Clay, of Washington, DC.
