Correct protocol for getting a signed congradulatory letter for 100yr church anniversary from President Obama?

Question by Sis. Clark: Correct protocol for getting a signed congradulatory letter for 100yr church anniversary from President Obama?
In March of 2010, St. John Baptist Church of San Antonio, TX will be celebrating its 100yr anniversary. I am putting together a souvenir book and would like congratulatory letters from President Obama and my state Governor, mayor, congressperson and other elected officials.
I need to know how to do go about doing this. Please help.

You Governor may help. Obama & the federal government won’t.

Try writing to them. It might get through. Or go on their major website. However… I doubt you will get much of a responce. No matter what you do.

the church and the people who attend them teach HATE, live hate, and act hate

it’s all they know

need proof?

read the Q&A right here

their hate can not be hidden

Open Letter: Oh Christians who believe in Trinity: Why distort the truth?

Open Letter: Oh Christians who believe in Trinity: Why distort the truth?

Open Letter: Oh Christians who believe in Trinity: Why distort the truth?

Christians believe in Jesus Christ to be the Son of God, the Father, the Son and Father as part of the Trinity of God: The father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (Gabriel).

But where is Your Proof?

Where is Your Evidence?

Where is you Reference?

You are unable to produce even one single index !

Will you not look for the truth then?

There is not one single proof of what you claim!

There is not one single evidence of what you proclaim! Not one single actual and real reference in reality.

You know very well that what you pretend to cannot be accepted as authentic

for there is no evidence for what you believe.

You deny the oneness, uniqueness, indivisibility of God, the creator, God All Mighty!

How far astray are you from the oneness of God who created you and created Jesus Christ

and the Holy Spirit. Do you make even His creatures, Christ and Gabriel His equals?

How can you believe in Jesus Christ as a God?

Is this not the extremity of Blasphemy and untruthfulness to God and to your own selves?

Produce any solid argument and evidence if you are right!

What is this God who begets Children? Who is this God who comes as a Man , to be humiliated, tortured, put on the cross by a few drunkard Roman soldiers

And CANNOT Defend Himself?

Who is this God that allows Humans, whom He has created from nothing, give life to His creatures and then came down as a Man?

Do Not you see. Or are you blind to think and feal with your hearts?

What is this God that comes as a man, then allows His own creatures to humiliate them? What is this God who allows His creatures, who were nothing, absolutely nothing before, still are nothing and they shall be reduced to nothing, to allow them to torture them?

What is this God who allows his baseless abominable creatures to put God on the cross?

Do you worship this God.

I certainly Don’t.

God is the All Mighty that has assembled your atoms together and so did for Jesus Christ before you.

He is the one that gives life and death. He is Life and humans are nothing but mortals. He has created life and death, never dies and never begets anything.

What blasphemy you commit?

Then you take partners with God first Jesus Christ son of Mary, then his mother, for the Catholics, as the mother of God you take for worship?

Do you do not abstain from the horror you believe in and refrain from associating the Archangel Gabriel, the Holy Spirit with God whom He has created.

It is a horrible thing that you do. Association with God other things, humans or idols or otherwise is cursed by God Himself.

It is absolute rejection of God.

This evident in the Law which you might believe in. This is out spelled in the Qur án which you deny as true and authentic to be the divine word of God.

The Holy spirit is like any other angel, and like Jesus himself , both, like all other creatures were created by the ALL Mighty God.

What injustice you do to God? What blasphemy you proclaim on behalf of Jesus? Jesus does not refrain from acknowledging God as his creator. Jesus does not abstain from worshipping God , his Lord and the Lord of his mother Mary and the Lord of Gabriel.

Would you not refrain from your blasphemy then?

Your arrogance as ignorant and arrogant humans snatch God out of His throne, reduce him to a sheer human, then Judge Him by His servants, deliver his death by His own creatures, torture Him, humiliate Him and then Put Him on the Cross and then put Him suffering to death, then resurrect Him, then send Him back again to His throne, what Arrogance and What Blasphemy.

If you have the slightest brain or heart to feel then you know that what you worship is nothing but human like yourselves.

Christ was nothing but a human being chosen to deliver the divine message, like Noah, Abraham, Moses and Muhammad.

Jesus Christ was not even mentioned anywhere in the literature of the epoch of his time except in the four books of the Evangel of John, Matthew, Luke and Mark.

Then in your ignorance you make each others as Lords and invoke their help and assistance: you make among yourselves priests and archbishops and invoke God through them. They are as ignorant as you are.

God has commanded to invoke Him directly, never to take from you any priests or momks to pray for you and forgive you your sins.

It is only God who you must pray to and ask His forgiveness. He is the ONLY one that hears and forgives. He is the All pardoner and not humans like yourselves. You make of the Vatican your holy place that pardons and forgives like God does?

The Church is a place where you should worship one and indivisible God, the God of Jesus and the God of Mary and the God of Gabriel. He is your only Lord and nothing else. But how far astray did you go from the truth of the divine religion sent to Jesus Christ and the other Messengers of God.

Look at the Universe and see if you can deny the Oneness of an All Mighty God, creator of All and our return All to Him. Blessed Him from being associated with his slave-servants worshippers.

Would you not take heed then?

It is recommended you use all 13 Tips in your Ezine

Our fourth lesson in “13 Tips For Church Letter Writing
Success” will build off the letter “R” in our Church Letters
acrostic.

So far, we have looked at the following:
C – Be Clear
H – Be Hopeful
U – Be Understanding

Today, we will take a look at:

R – Be Responsive
If you close your letter encouraging the person to get in
touch with you if they are in need of anything, be sure to
provide them with a way to get in touch *and* then be
available.

While this may be difficult for leaders of larger
congregations, you will find that most people will be
sensitive to your unique situation.

You may also provide other avenues of ministry that will
help them.  After all, even WE don’t have all the answers,
but God has placed many gifts in the church that are available
to be used.

Provide phone numbers, (yes, even cell phone numbers), and
e-mail addresses so that people can get in touch with you or
someone designated for that particular ministry.

While Jesus was teaching the masses, we see time after time
that He stopped to minister to individuals, and even a few
times when his disciples attempted to turn away the very
people the Lord was reaching!

He responded to the touch of the infirmed woman who touched
the hem of His garment. He spoke at length with the woman at
the well who in turn reached her community.  He stopped and
called Zachaeus down from the tree and went to his home.
Nicodemus came to Him at night, and Jesus responded to his
need.

The list could go on and on…

The key is being responsive, and yes, approachable!

Below is your fourth complimentary letter which you may
modify and use in your own church communications.

Our thirteenth and final lesson in “13 Tips For Church Letter
Writing Success” will build off the letter “S” in our Church
Letters acrostic.

So far, we have looked at the following:
C – Be Clear
H – Be Hopeful
U – Be Understanding
R – Be Responsive
C – Be Consistent
H – Be Helpful

L – Be “Letter-Ready”
E – Be Evangelistic
T – Be Tactful
T – Be Timely
E – Be Energetic
R – Be Right

Today, we will take a look at:

S – Be Scriptural
In writing Church Letters it is always of great benefit to
share a particular passage of scripture that may be applicable
to their situation at the time.  In a very difficult
circumstance, you can share that “God works all things
together for good…”, or “weeping may endure for the night,
but joy comes in the morning”.

Simply be aware of the situation, and mindful of any scriptures
that will provide hope or healing, and encouragement.

Take a few moments to listen for the prompting of the Holy Spirit
as you determine what scripture to place in the letter.  As
Ministry leaders, we must STILL believe God speaks to our hearts
today as we assist others in the journey to heaven.

modify and use in your own church communications.

Letter to Church – Raising Missions Awareness

Jesus said in: Mark 16:15 – “Go into all the world and preach the
good news to all creation.”

Those words spoken by the Lord are at the heart of our desire to
share the Gospel with the world through our Missions giving here at
First Christian Church.  Sadly, the Great Commission has become for
many people the “Great Omission”, as they have failed to realize
the supreme importance Jesus placed on reaching the lost.

Remarkably, there are still many people around this world that have
not yet heard the name of Jesus, and the freedom He offers through
a life surrendered to Him. The Bible also tells us: Luke 19:10 –
For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.” We are
compelled to seek out those who are lost, and impart to them the
Gospel message…or the Good News!

We here at First Christian Church want to be sure we are doing our
part, and while we have been actively involved in supporting
Missions both here and abroad, we believe that we must increase in
this vital area.  We also believe that God will greatly bless a
“missions-minded” church and in turn will supply for the needs as
we partner with Him in reaching the Lost through our giving of
“time, talent, and treasure”.

In the next few weeks and months, you will hear more about the
importance of Missions, and we will also be offering special
opportunities to become involved.  While we all may not be able to
“go” physically, we can “go” in some way, whether it be in the area
of finances, letter writing, prayers, or other avenues of ministry.

For now, would you begin to prayerfully consider what God might be
saying to you regarding Missions?  Missions IS the heart of God,
and He also asks that we pray to Him to send forth laborers.
Matthew 9:38 – Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out
workers into his harvest field.” Did you know that when a
Missionary stands in our pulpit to share his or her vision, they
are an ANSWER to prayer?

Henry Martyn wrote the following: “The Spirit of Christ is the
spirit of missions, and the nearer we get to him, the more
intensely missionary we must become.”

Thank you for praying and believing with us here at First Christian
Church.

In Christ,
Rev. John Doe

Church Letter Writing Success Mini Course – Tip 1 of 13

Church Letter Writing Success Mini Course – Tip 1 of 13

Church Letter Writing Success Mini Course – Tip 1 of 13
It is recommended you use all 13 Tips in your Ezine

Our first lesson in “13 Tips For Church Letter Writing Success”

We will build off the letter “C” in our Church Letters acrostic.

Each week, we will provide the previous letter for easy
reference without going back through your e-mails.

C – Be Clear
When your letter is read, you don’t want it to be similar
to some bad commercials on television that may have looked and
sounded good, but upon completion of viewing (or reading), the
person looks back and wonders “what that was all about”.

If you are writing a letter to thank a person for visiting
your church, be sure to do exactly that… then go on to tell
them about the ministries that are available to them.

As you know, we live in a fast paced world, and when people
want information, they want it to be clear, concise, yet when
it comes to the church environment, they also want it to be
on time!  There is nothing quite so disappointing as receiving
a letter of an “upcoming” event only to find that it is over
because the mail didn’t go out in time, or the 3rd class bulk
mail took much longer than expected.
(Should have used Pony Express!)

Be sure to answer the five basics of “Who, What, When,
Where, Why”, and within those basics be sure the person
knows what to do upon completing the reading of the letter
or greeting card.

Below is your first complimentary church letter which you may
modify and use in your own church communications.

(Friends and Family Day Invitation Letter)

I write briefly to inform you of a very special day of
ministry and outreach we will be having here at First
Christian Church on Sunday October 15, 200_ in the morning
service(s).

We will be hosting a “Friends And Family” day, and we are
encouraging all members and adherents to think of at least
1 or more friends or family members to invite to attend
church with you. The best invitation of course, would be to
a person or family who does not attend church anywhere at all,
however for this special day I am sure the invitations will
not be exclusive in this manner.

Statistics have shown that the most effective manner in
building Church attendance is by the invitation of a friend
or family member.  The goal is not just to build Church
attendance, but to quite possibly change lives for eternity!

I encourage you to take a moment right now and begin to make
a list of 5-10 people you would consider inviting to First
Christian Church on “Friends and Family” day.  Then, take
the list and offer prayer for each name and ask the Holy
Spirit to lead you to the right time and place in which
you will offer your invitation, and then…go for it!

We will be having special ministry for the children on that
day as well as a relevant presentation of the Gospel message
through Word and Song.

Following the service, we would like to host a Fellowship
Meal for everyone in attendance, so it is important that we
know how many people will be coming on this special day.
A signup sheet has been placed in the church foyer with
details on this meal.

I look forward to seeing you here on October 15, and I
encourage you to do your best to invite a friend or family
member.

Blessings in Christ,
Pastor John Doe

A Greater Awakening: 21st Century Letter to the Churches in the Usa

A Greater Awakening: 21st Century Letter to the Churches in the Usa

The Editor-in-Chief of SOJOURNERS Magazine, the Evangelical Jim Wallis has released a new book, The Great Awakening, written with hope to wake up American institutionalized Christians to be a part of the rebirth and renewal to heal, mend and transform “the biblical scandal of poverty around the globe and here at home, the crisis of environmental degradation and climate change that pose a threat to God’s creation, and to the multiple assaults on human life and dignity that shame our world.” [Page 12, Feb. 2008, SOJOURNERS]

Jim’s seeking revival, but this non-institutional Christian of The Beatitudes, is calling for a revolution and it begins with common sense and goes retro; back to the voices of wisdom that founded this nation.

“Soon after I had published the pamphlet “Common Sense” [on Feb. 14, 1776] in America, I saw the exceeding probability that a revolution in the system of government would be followed by a revolution in the system of religion… The world is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good is my religion.”-Tom Paine

Wallis proposes Seven Principals and Rules of Engagement for Christian political involvement in the world:

1. God hates injustice.

2. The kingdom of God is a new order.

3. The church is an alternative community

4. The kingdom of God transforms the world by addressing the specifics of injustice.

5. The church is the conscience of the state, holding it accountable for upholding justice and restraining its violence.

6. Take a global perspective.

7. Seek the common good.

All seven points are well and good and I wish Jim luck and pray he does indeed arouse the sleeping Christians for the western institutions have failed at its commission. Too many churches in the USA have become places to socialize and be entertained and to be patted on the back just for doing the minimum of what is required if one claims to be a Christian; and churches have become business’s that maintain the status quo and not so much about the social gospel.

The gospel-which means good news, that Jesus preached, was very political and a direct challenge to the politically powerful and the arrogant, self-satisfied, self-righteous teachers of the law.

Two thousand years ago the Cross had NO symbolic religious meaning and was not a piece of jewelry. When Jesus said: “Pick up your cross and follow me,” everyone back then understood he was issuing a POLITICAL statement, for the main roads in Jerusalem were lined with crucified agitators, rebels, dissidents and any others who disturbed the status quo of the Roman Occupying Forces.

In the latter days of Nero’s reign [54-68 A.S.] through the domination of Domitian [ 81-96] Christians were persecuted for following the nonviolent, loving and forgiving Jesus. That Jesus was first left behind when Augustine penned the Just War Theory.

Before Emperor Constantine brought Christianity into the mainstream, all the early Church Fathers taught that Christians should not serve in the army but instead willingly suffer rather than inflict harm on any other. St. Augustine was the first Church Father to consider the concept of a Just War and within 100 years after Constantine, the Empire required that all soldiers in the army must be baptized Christians and thus, the decline of Christianity began in earnest.

With the justification of war and violence supplied by Augustine’s Just War Theory, wrong became right. Nothing much has changed in two millennia, for in today’s Orwellian world politicians claim the way to peace is through war and that nuclear weapons provide protection. American money claims ‘In God we Trust’ but the truth is America’s faith is in an out of control Military Industrial Complex that seeks domination, power and control over any who would defy and challenge the American status quo. Eisenhower warned America not to bind our economy to the Industrial Military Complex and like most prophets, he was ignored.

In 313 AD, Emperor Constantine legitimized Christianity and thus, those who had been considered rebels and outlaws began to enjoy political power and prestige. Jesus’ other name is The Prince of Peace, and with the marriage of church and state, his true teachings were reinterpreted. The justification of warfare and the use of state sponsored violence corrupted what Christ modeled and taught. Jesus was always on about WAKE UP! The Divine already indwells you and all others. Christ taught that to follow him requires that one must love ones enemies; one must forgive those who hate, curse and revile them, without even a thought of payback.

Christ lived a life that proved evil can be opposed without being mirrored, and that the cycle of a “tooth for a tooth, an eye for an eye”, will never bring peace and justice. Before Emperor Constantine brought Christianity into the mainstream, all the early Church Fathers taught –and all Christians never served in the army but instead willingly suffered rather than inflict harm on any other.

The term Christianity was not coined until three decades after Christ walked the earth. Until the day of Paul, followers of Christ were called members of The Way; the way being what he taught!

Christ was never a Christian, but he was a social justice, radical revolutionary Palestinian devout Jewish road warrior who rose up [intifada in Arabic] for he challenged the job security of the Temple authorities by teaching the people they did NOT need to pay the priests for ritual baths or sacrificing livestock to be OK with God; for God already LOVED them just as they were: sinners, poor, diseased, outcasts, widows, orphans, refugees and prisoners all living under Roman Military Occupation.

What got Jesus crucified was disturbing the status quo of the Roman Occupying Forces of his time, by teaching the subversive concept that Caesar only had power because God allowed it and that God preferred the humble sinner, the poor, diseased, outcasts, widows, orphans, refugees and prisoners all living under Roman Occupation above the elite and arrogant!

Clement, Tertillian, Polycarp and every other early Church Father taught that violence was a contradiction of what Christ was all about. There have always been those Christians who spoke out against this corruption of scripture and they have been ignored, reviled, rejected, mocked, persecuted and maligned throughout time. There have always been Christians who have never abandoned the true teachings, such as the Quakers, Mennonites, some Catholics and Protestants who have been faithful witnesses to Christ by denouncing violence and caring for the poor. There have also always been Jews, Muslims, atheists, anarchists, secularists, rebels and revolutionaries have lived lives that embody the message of Christ; have in fact done what he actually said, which was most revolutionary.

Christ, you know it ain’t easy

You know how hard it can be

The way things are going

They’re gonna crucify me-John Lennon

The institutionalized Christians may crucify me for claiming that many who attend 21st century American churches have re-crucified and maligned Jesus, for they worship an institution and pages in the Bible. All institutions are man made and the Bible was not FAXED in from heaven, it was written down after centuries of the oral history being passed down. When ever stories are retold, they change, and we all know this if we ever played the childhood game of telephone. Scribes were imperfect human who made many mistakes as they recopied texts; many also added their own point of view and some even left out what they chose to.

The most decisive event in the history of Christendom occurred when Emperor Constantine accepted the Christian faith, for those who had once been persecuted were now protected by an earthly king. Both a patriarchal monarchical state and church were formed at the same time. Power struggles and debates were common among the early Christians. Individual churches determined which texts were read, and they all had their favorites. Constantine sought to unite his empire, and uniting the church was a savvy political move. He announced he would pay for fifty illuminated copies of scripture to be bound, and thus the biblical canon was established and sealed. There was fierce debate among the bishops about what should be included and what left out.

The proto-orthodox, who had now become the dominant voice, determined what was heretical for everyone. The proto-orthodox demanded much-loved scripture to be burned, usually because it did not fit their understanding of God. We know more today about how diverse Christianity had once been with the discovery of the Nag´ Hammâdi Library. [Refer to Part One is this series for more information]

I may get crucified for this, but I contend that there is a cult within The Body of Christ in the USA that worships the institution and pages in the Bible, and it is a cult of the dead. Just because the canon was sealed, does not mean that God stopped talking to his creation and we can all hear Him/She/? in the voice of our own conscience, as well as in the voices of open vessels such as poets, musicians, critics, dissidents and rebels throughout history.

Just because I no longer do church, I am still connected to the mystical Body of Christ and the most rigid of fundamentalists are my sisters and brothers. St. Paul, who never failed to express his freedom of speech, warned the followers of Christ, NOT to judge the
