The Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International, Inc., (www.fullgospelatl.com) an international faith and family reformation of churches, will host its annual convention and exhibit – themed Embracing the Next Dimension, June 24 – 29, 2007 at The Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The convention is expected to draw more than 30,000 attendees, 10,000 leaders of faith, a multitude of youth, and thousands of businesses and community organizations. “Atlanta is a wonderful destination, and one in need of a continuous economic investment that a large faith and family organization such as Full Gospel can provide,” notes Bishop Paul S. Morton, Sr., Presiding Bishop of the Fellowship. “We hope to fill the void created by the MegaFest conference in Atlanta and bring millions of dollars into the local economy.”
With this goal, Bishop Morton is committed to forming partnerships with every sector of the Atlanta community. “As Presiding Bishop, I am developing initiatives that will create long term win-win relationships with the city’s corporate, community and political bodies,” adds Bishop Morton. The Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship’s unique value proposition involves a network of churches, ministries and covenant partners throughout the U.S., North America and the world.
Headquartered in New Orleans, La., the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship has found a second home in Atlanta in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. One of the events scheduled in partnership with The Points of Light Foundation, www.pointsoflight.org, is the “We Are Family” victory concert which will commemorate the second anniversary of Katrina and celebrate the ways that faith, family, and community have come together to lift up those who were affected by the disaster.
“We have always used our annual conference as a welcome home for our families and friends, and we hope to continue that tradition,” said Bishop Morton, who added that a portion of the proceeds from the benefit concert would be donated to rebuilding efforts on the Gulf Coast.
Excitement for the convention is building and according to Bishop Morton, the goal of the event’s spiritual sessions, enrichment seminars, leadership and entrepreneurship forums and exhibits, is “to change a generation – one life, one family, one business, one community, and one nation at a time.”
