Doesn’t the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, and the Episcopal Church have close ties?

Question by : Doesn’t the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, and the Episcopal Church have close ties?
I’m Christian, and I go to an Episcopal Church and I was wondering don’t these two churches have close ties, and why is there such warmth and comfort during greetings with probably one congregation and another. Does the relationship with the Episcopal Churches and others go back a long time?

No, not especially so. The Episcopalians were started in England, whereas the Lutheran Church in America has it roots to Scandinavia. Both are Christian Churches, and fine organizations, for sure.

What is a convincing argument for somone who doesn’t believe the Episcopal church is acceptable?

My mom doesn’t believe the Episcopal church is acceptable possibly because she says they are too liberal in theology and ethics and morals. She didn’t really clarify why it wasn’t acceptable. She just brought up this woman that was raised Episcopalian who has liberal views and she condemns it because of that.
