Question by CJ Baby’s: IS it ok to have dancing for a wedding at a church fellowship hall?
My wedding is going to be at a church. I am wanting to have dancing, but my reception will be in the basement of the church… the church’s fellowship hall. I was thinking is this unappropriate? I think it is, but this is where my reception will be. What can I have during the reception that would take the place of dancing? Because I just dont want all of us to be down there without anything going on. Would just music be ok?? IDK just wondering.

You need to check with the church secretary or pastor as to the individual beliefs of each particular religion. Rent a hall, a vfw or masonic lodge. Check around with bridal shops, some victorian, large souther mansion style homes are rented out for weddings, receptions.

Question by SJAL334: What are the Church of Christ beliefs on dancing and drinking alcohol?
I’m in a wedding planning class and am creating a wedding for a fake couple whose religion is Church of Christ. I have heard that these members are not permitted to dance or consume alcohol. Is this true?
