Jesus Blood Our Covering For Sin
Praise the name of Jesus Christ our soon coming King.
I am writing today about a subject so dear to my heart. The Shed blood of Jesus Christ that was offered up at Calvary. His blood purchased the church ( Acts 20:28 ). His blood Justifies us (Romans 5:9). His blood redeems us from sin ( Ephesians 1:7 and Colossians 1:14). His blood cleanses us from all sin( 1John 1:7). His blood brings remission of sins and without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins ( Hebrews 9:22). His blood is precious ( 1 Peter 1:19). His blood washes us( Revelation 1:5). His blood washes our robes that are but filthy rags before the Lord and makes them white by the blood of Jesus ( Revelation 7:14).
(Revelation 7:14) And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
From the beginning of time man has tried to cover his sins and hide his sins and through his own righteousness has tried to make a covering for their sins. When Adam and Eve sinned in the garden what was the first thing that they did? ( Genesis 3:7) And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. The first thing they did was sewed together fig leaves and made aprons. Why did they do this? To hide their nakedness. ( Genesis 2:25) And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed. They were not ashamed because they had the Righteousness of God for a covering and when they sinned they lost their right standing (righteousness) with God and they saw they were naked and they wove together fig leaf apron to try and cover their nakedness somehow thinking that God wouldnt see their nakedness because they had made for themselves a covering. The Apostle Paul declared that in ( Romans 3:10) As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one and yet our first parents Adam and Eve tride to hide their sins by covering themselves.
What happened next? When God walking in the garden in the cool of the evening Adam and Eve hid themselves among the trees from the presence f God. ( Genesis 3:8 ) And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. Not only did they try to provide themselves a covering by making aprong of figs sewn together but they hid from God’s presence because of shame and his nakedness. (Genesis 3: 10) And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. The Lord showed Isaiah that our righteousness was as filthy rags. (Isaiah 64:6) But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
Although Adam and Eve felt right in covering their nakedness we know the bible teaches our sins are not covered by our works of righteousness. ( Titus 3:5) Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. There isnt anything that you and I can do to make ourselves righteous. But Jesus blood makes us righteous and gives us a right standing with God. ( 2 Corinthians 5:21) For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. Jesus not only bore our sins in His own body but also tasted death for all men (1 Peter 2:24, Hebrews 2:9) and he has made us righteouss through His blood that was given as a covering for our sins. Adam and Eve though they tried to cover their nakedness what did God do? ( Genesis 3:21) Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them. It was God who made a sacrifice of blood to cover their sins and clothed them with skins to hide their nakedness. Only God can cover you and and His blood can cover your sins and my sins. Jesus shed blood and covered the nakedness and sins of our first parents Adam and Eve. In this God showed them that sin causes death and what it meant to die because of sin. Also it was a sacrifice offered by the hand of God which was a type of Jesus blood being shed at Calvary.
We dont have the power to make ourselves right with God but being washed in the blood of Jesus cleanses from sin and causes the righteousness that Adam and Eve lost to cover our nakedness and drive away our shame and make us no longer afraid of the presence of God but brings us into fellowship with Him. If you have never been washed in the blood of Jesus Christ you can today. I have a few questions to ask you to see if you are ready to shed those robes of filthy rags of unrighteousness and put on Jesus Christ the righteousness of God.
Are you sorry for the sins you have committed and do you acknowledge that on Jesus blood can cover you. No matter how much money you give to the church or if you show up to every meeting you must acknowledge your works of righteousness dont save you but Jesus blood does. Repent of your sins and give your heart and life to Jesus Christ. Be washed in Jesus blood by the waters of baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. The bible declares in ( 1John 5:8 ) And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. When were baptized in water in Jesus Name the Spirit and Blood are there to wash away your sins. And God will fill you with the Holy Ghost evidence by speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance.
I pray that you are blessed by this study of the Word of God today. Remember you and me we are a prized possession purchased by the blood of Jesus and God has made us righteouss through Jesus and His sacrificial death at Calvary.
