I was Baptized in a Baptist Church, would I need to be Baptized again since I joined The Church of Christ?

Question by JD290: I was Baptized in a Baptist Church, would I need to be Baptized again since I joined The Church of Christ?
I was just woundering if the Bible said anything about this, And what you feel would be correct thing to do. It’s the Church of Christ, Not the Mormon church!

I wouldn’t think so. They are both New Testament denominations of the same religion who essentially believe in the same thing.

This is the oldest item in Christ Church, Philadelphia. William Penn was baptized in this font, in England. A Bishop suggested strongly to that church that Christ Church, in Philadelphia, didn’t have a baptismal font, and it would be nice if they sent the one Penn was baptized in to North America. So they did. The tour guide told us that it was in Philadelphia on a "temporary" basis.

This church building, home to arguably the most important church congregation in US history, was finished in 1744.

The red rope is to keep tourists, like us, from getting close to the font.

do all Church of Christ churches believe that you have to be baptized?

Question by Chishio: do all Church of Christ churches believe that you have to be baptized?
My grandma said that she visited the Church of Christ and they told her that even though she accepted Jesus, she would go to hell if she wasn’t baptised IN THEIR CHURCH. She told them that she had been baptized, but they said “yes, but did you SEE your sins wash away?”

Are all Church of Christs like this or just that one?

When you climb a ladder, you must begin at the bottom, and ascend step by step until you arrive at the top; and so it is with the principles of the Gospel: you must begin with the first, and go on until you learn all the principles of exaltation. But it will be a great while after you have passed through the vail before you will have learned them. It is not all to be comprehended in this world: it will be a great work to learn our salvation and exaltation even beyond the grave. I suppose I am not allowed to go into an investigation of anything that is not contained in the Bible. If I did, I think there are so many over-wise men here, that they would cry “treason” and put me to death. So I will go to the old Bible and turn commentator to-day.
