Palm Beach Gardens, FL (PRWEB) June 24, 2005
Nine months after Hurricane Frances and Hurricane Jeanne wrecked havoc and destruction on Florida, one of its victims has found a new home. Covenant Centre International  a respected global leader in the faith-based movement  has executed a lease-option to purchase a vacant church building located in South Florida.
ÂWe trusted that God would make a way for us to have a new home, says Norman D. Benz, Lead Pastor of the 450-member congregation Âand He has. CovenantÂs new home is 9153 Roan Lane, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The churchÂs first service in the new building is scheduled for Sunday, July 10.
Benz, who is now in his 40th year of ministry says, ÂI have never personally been through anything like what we as a congregation have been through these past nine months. The hurricanes proved that the church is not a building, the church is a people.Â
On September 5, 2004, Hurricane Frances destroyed the building that Covenant Centre International had been occupying since 1995. The single storey former warehouse located in Palm Beach Gardens was practically destroyed by the Category 1 storm. What Frances did not demolish, Hurricane Jeanne annihilated three weeks later.
Although its home base was destroyed, Covenant Centre International did not stop supporting and overseeing its worldwide network of more than 100 ministers, 37 ministries and 27 churches. Covenant, which has been serving the South Florida community for 13 years, heeded the call to continue following God.
Covenant Centre International has been meeting at 3960 RCA Blvd, Suite 6003 while permanent facilities were being arranged. The last service at this facility is scheduled for Sunday, July 3.
Says Benz, Âthe hand of the Lord is so evident among us. His presence is resident with power. His Word declares over us life, destiny, and abundance.Â
