I’m very much involved with a yoga meditation center where I live–I do public speaking, organize programs, etc. Is that worth listing for graduate colleges to see?

YES! Colleges are looking for students that are well engulfed in the community. Think of it as the military, the college is looking to recruit YOU to represent them as a (insert mascot name here). List all community service you do, details, and how many hours a week or month.

Absolutely! Church activities are just as valid as any other community service activities. This will also show the college that you are a responsible, grounded individual. I know that just because you go to church doesn’t mean that you’re perfect or a better person than the next, but seeing that a person is an active church member definitely gives the impression of a well-rounded, serious person. Good luck!
