Currently this church on Oxford Road in Moseley is a Black peoples church called the Calvary Church of God in Christ.
But orginally it was the Baptist Church, Oxford Road, Moseley.
I heard singing inside as I walked past it.
History: It is a Grade II listed building dating to 1888, designed by J P Osborne. The design was supposed to be for St Agnes’s Church, Moseley, but it did not win. The baptist congregation liked the design, and had it built as there church on Oxford Road.
The building has a clerestoried nave, buttressed narrow aisles, transepts, apsidal chancel, apsidal south-west baptistery and buttressed north-west tower, with pinnacles and spire. It was built in stone.
