A Most Interesting Trip to New York

As you know, I traveled to New York on Monday for a segment on CNN. As I was awaiting my turn and seated off set, I had the opportnity to speak at length with the UN Ambassador from Syria, Dr. Bashar Ja' Afari.

We exchanged pleasantries and he began to ask me why I was there and I explained that I was called in for a segment on the Israeli conflict as it relates to Armageddon. Knowing that this would lead to further conversation, I decided to ask a few questions of my own, specifically, as to why his country funds and supplies terrorists, why they are friendly with another country whose sole mission is the destruction of Israel and other such questions.

Though he dodged some questions, the answers and philosphy behind others lead to a rather fascinating conversation.

Check my column on Monday for the full story.

Appering Monday, July 24 at 8 EST on CNN's Paula Zahn Now

Tune in to CNN Monday night at 8 EST and watch as I discuss the Israeli conflict with Paual Zahn and her other guests.

A recent CR Online poll asked the question: Do you feel that the recent conflict in Israel is the beginning of the Armageddon as some Christians have suggested. The poll, which received a total of 162,000 votes, indicated that 88% of CR Online viewers thought that this was not the Armadeggon.

What are your thoughts on this?
