Presbyterian Theologian Releases 9/11 Conspiracy Theory Book
Let's face it, the Presbyterians are having a tough enough time with public relations these days. The recent bickering about the Trinity and same sex marriage controversies are tearing up the mainline Presbyterian church---now this.
It seems that Professor David Griffin, on faculty at Claremont School of Theology, has authored a book, Christian Faith and the Truth Behind 9/11: A Call to Reflection and Action. The general premise of this new "fiction" is that the terrorist attacks on 9/11 were carried out by the Bush administration to justify the the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
While this is not an original thought, it is unfortunate that this religious scholar should even think to go down this treacherous path. Even more interesting, is the release of this book, the same week as Oliver Stone's new file about 9/11. This is an obvious ploy to gain publicity for his book, while Stone's film is reportedly a tribute to the courgae of those invovled in the attack.
Scorn should be noted on the side of the publishing company as well. In addition to printing this abomination, The Westminster/Knox Press has a history of publishing books with a pro-homosexual behavior agenda.
