The Rev. Nanette Geertz died of breast cancer in 2005.
But her legacy lives on with her book “Walking with Grief, a Healing Journey,” published by Healthsigns Center Inc. of Yarmouthport.
The book, which is illustrated by her good friend Anne Ierardi, is a moving portrait of a mother’s journey as she grieves for her daughter who died suddenly at age 19.
“This is a tribute to Nan,” says Ierardi, an artist and counselor who runs Healthsigns. “She was a wonderful woman who helped so many.”
Rev. Geertz served as associate pastor at the First Congregational Church in Falmouth and was director of Christian education at the First Church of Christ in Sandwich.
“What a magnificent blending of art and heart,” says Rabbi Earl A. Grollman of Boston, who has written several books on grieving. “Here is a direct line to the bereaved that will gently guide their heartbreak, encouraging them to live again.”
The book is available from Healthsigns. For more information, please contact Healthsigns at (508) 775-0700.
